Introduction to Azure Hybrid Cloud Services

What is a Hybrid Cloud?

Estimated reading: 1 minute 16 views

Hybrid clouds combine private clouds and on-premises data centers with public clouds like Azure. They allow applications and data to interact regardless of their location.

Hybrid clouds enable businesses to easily extend their on-premises infrastructure to the cloud when processing demand increases and scale it back when demand decreases. They offer the flexibility to use next-generation cloud technologies for new workloads while keeping critical applications and data on-premises for certain workloads. For example, some applications may be too costly to migrate or cannot be moved for compliance reasons.

A hybrid cloud strategy allows your organization to run on-premises and cloud workloads together. Hybrid clouds should not be considered a temporary solution during the transition to Azure. Instead, a hybrid cloud can be a long-term strategy that enables organizations to find a stable balance that meets their IT needs.
