Extend and Manage Microsoft Copilot Studio Agents

Agent Topic Permissions

Estimated reading: 1 minute 35 views

Topics are the no-code method for creating distinct conversation paths that, when used together in a single agent, allow users to have a conversation with an agent that feels natural and smooth.

Topics are isolated within each agent and cannot be shared, even if they are part of the same environment. You can copy an existing topic, which is automatically created and saved in the same agent, and by default, the Enabled option is set to Disabled.

When an agent is created, it includes seven custom topics and nine system topics. System topics are used to provide basic functionality and cannot be disabled.

You can export and import topics from one environment to another by using solutions and migrating the entire agent. In Solutions, you can add your existing agent, and this automatically includes all its topics.
