Our goal was to help you evaluate whether a declarative agent would be a good choice for extending Microsoft 365 Copilot. We developed several criteria that you can use to guide your decision:

You analyze your scenario according to each of these criteria in order to:

• Help you assess how a declarative agent can solve your problem.
• Give you an idea of the amount of effort required.

As a result, this analysis gives you a clearer understanding of how well a declarative agent matches your needs.

When we apply these criteria to our fictional IT support team, we can determine that a declarative agent was perfectly suitable for creating a self‑service IT support assistant for employees. We can also determine that interacting with the support ticketing system requires more work, because we need to create a custom action.
