Our goal was to help you assess whether a declarative agent would be a good choice to extend Microsoft 365 Copilot. We defined some criteria that you can use to guide your decision:

• Scenario
• Orchestrator and model
• Data sources

You analyze your scenario against each criterion to:

• Help you evaluate how a declarative agent can solve your problem.
• Give you an idea of the effort required.

As a result, this analysis gives you a better understanding of the alignment between a declarative agent and your needs.

When we apply these criteria to our fictional IT support team, we can determine that a declarative agent was perfect for creating a self-service assistant for employee IT support. We can also determine that interacting with the ticket management system requires more work, as we need to create a custom action.
